Calling All Musicians! Play to Support the Dearborn Animal Shelter

Musician and resident Bruce Harkness shares details for his holiday fundraiser, happening this Sunday.

Hey, local musicians—a gig is coming up this Sunday that will help to raise funds for the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Here are the details for the Holiday Jam Session, as shared by musician and resident Bruce Harkness on the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter website:

Following my retirement from the City of Dearborn two years ago I put aside my camera and picked up my alto saxophone, which I had last played in 1969 at age 14.

I have several saxophone song books; one of my favorites being my book of holiday songs.

Recently I decided to take the plunge and play in a public venue. I chose the Muirhead Plaza (located between Buddy’s Pizza and the Bryant Library) in the west Dearborn business district. I will play holiday songs in that area on Sunday, December 16th, between 2 and 4 pm, weather permitting.

I want to give this event a purpose so all proceeds collected in my donation bucket will go to the Dearborn Animal Shelter to help fund the vital and wonderful work they do.

I invite any budding musician to add to the fun by joining me and performing a few solos. Just show up or call Bruce Harkness at (313) 278-3992 to reserve your spot.

See you there!
