USCRI Backpack Drive From August 16 - August 30

USCRI DETROIT KICKS OFF THE WORLD REFUGEE DAY PROJECT 

“Back to School with Backpacks’ is the first event.

Starting off the school year with the right tools is critical to a child's success.

This year, the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants’ Detroit will be holding a backpack drive to help refugee children in our community. We want our kids to be ready to fully participate this school year.

You can ensure each and every refugee child in our community goes to school on September 3 by donating much needed supplies.

List of Supplies Needed:

Backpacks*  Pencils Pens Notebooks Colored Markers Rulers Paper Crayons Folders Glue   Scissors Erasers

Drop off locations:

  • University of Michigan- 4901 Evergreen Rd  Dearborn, MI 48128 - University Center in-front of room 1290
  • Esper Branch Library- 12929 W Warren Ave  Dearborn, MI 48126 - Next to the information desk
  • East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority- 13750 Michigan Avenue Dearborn, Michigan 48126
