UM-Dearborn Students Upset With School's Decision to Stay Open Wednesday

The university's Facebook page has received more than 100 comments since 8 p.m. Tuesday, most of them voicing frustrations with the school.

Many University of Michigan-Dearborn students took to Facebook Tuesday night to voice their concerns about the school's decision to stay open Wednesday, despite extreme temperatures and poor travel conditions on campus.

The university's Facebook page has received more than 100 comments since 8 p.m. Tuesday, most of them voicing frustrations with the school.

One commenter, Facebook user Samantha Scott said "Considering UMD is a commuter school, you would have thought it would be closed considering the wind chill and the fact that all expressways and main roads are a sheet of ice!!! I know I will not be risking my life to be there for 8am. Especially considering my sub hasn't been plowed out yet."

Other students, like Facebook user Al Fiasco, had a more light-hearted attitude about tomorrow's icy conditions.

"I have 8 huskies and a sled if anyone needs a ride tomorrow," he posted.

The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor will also remain open on Wednesday. However, students unable to attend class because of the weather will be allowed to make up any missed work without penalty, according to the university's website.

The University of Michigan-Flint will be closed on Wednesday.
