Five Places Open on Christmas in Dearborn
Malls, city offices and most businesses are closed Dec. 25, but there are still a few places that will be open around town.
Whether you're tracking down a last minute ingredient for Christmas dinner or simply just looking to get out of the house, the world doesn't stop just because it's a holiday.
Here's a look at what's open and what's closed in Dearborn Christmas Day:
1. CVS

Most CVS stores in Dearborn are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day, but there is no guarantee that you will be able to fill a prescription. CVS is the spot to pick up a holiday card, pet food or other must-have item when just about everything else is closed.
2. Walgreens

Walgreens will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day. The store's number one seller on Christmas? Butter.

4. 7-Eleven
The convenience store becomes the ultra spot for convenience Christmas Day. On the way to Grandma's house, you can also pick up some last-minute items, from Advil to Gatorade.
5. Movie Theaters
AMC Fairlane
The AMC Star Fairlane theater will have reduced showtimes on Christmas Day. Shows begin as early as 9:30 a.m. and start as late as 8:50 p.m., with showings of such films as American Hustle, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, and Frozen.
What's closed on Christmas
Most Dearborn businesses are closed Dec. 25, as are city offices, banks, malls, the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center. Refuse collection will be delayed one day due to the holiday.
Most retailers will reopen Dec. 26 and are expecting one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
