Dearborn City Council to Hold Special Meeting Wednesday

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, and is open to the public.

Councilmembers David Bazzy and Michael T. Sareini have called a special meeting of the City Council for Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The meeting was called to take action on a proposed resolution by Councilmembers Mark Shooshanian and Thomas T. Tafelski, denying the request from the prior owners of 7041 Orchard to buy back the property, along with two adjacent lots on Ternes.

The request was made by Carl Rashid, the owners' attorney, on behalf of Domani International and Sam Hamade. Rashid told the council in December that some of the back taxes on the property had already been paid.

According to City Attorney Debra Walling, the property has a history of nuisance violations, mainly from people illegally dumping, the Dearborn Press and Guide reported.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, and is open to the public.
