5 Job Openings with the City of Dearborn

Looking for work really close to home? The city of Dearborn has several job opportunities open now:

1. Museum assistant

Pay rate: $10 (hourly, part-time). The closing date for applications is Oct. 11. The assistant will help out at the Dearborn Historical Museum, 915 Brady St.

2. Recreation Associate

Pay rate: $9-$9.50 (hourly, part-time). The position is for the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. An employee in this position is responsible for coordinating meetings, receptions, birthday parties, field trips and other special events. The employee will serve as a salesperson for the department and will be responsible for negotiating room rentals at the facility. The closing date for applications is Oct. 14.

3. Refrigeration (HVAC) Mechanic

Pay rate: $23.38 to $25.84 (hourly, full-time). This is skilled work of a journeyman level in the installation, testing, repair and alteration of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating system equipment and controls. Applicants must have a considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and procedures utilized in the testing and repair of hot air, hot water, electrical and steam heating equipment. The closing date for applications is Oct. 8.

4. Surveyor

Pay rate: $41,926 to $50,313 (annually, full-time). The employee performs with and supervises a survey party in establishing lines and grade for construction work, performing topographic surveys, running precise levels, closing traverses, taking cross-sections, preparing and checking legal descriptions and other miscellaneous surveying duties. The closing date for applications is Oct. 15.

5. Waitstaff Mystic Creek

Pay rate: $5.25 to $9 (hourly, part-time). This is a seven-day operation during the golf season. Applicants must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Extended time off during the golf season is extremely limited.
