The YWCA of Western Wayne County is coordinating Stand Against Racism on April 29. Activities that express the desire to eliminate racism in our communities are taking place all over Western Wayne County (and the country). To learn more about what others are doing or to sign up to "Take a stand" visit standagainstracism.org or call Marlyne Musleh at the ywca-wwc 313-561-4110. Area teens and teen groups are invited to participate in a lively interactive discussion of Structural Racism and Immigration led by Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion Youth Interns - 4-7 p.m. at the YWCA 26279 Michigan Avenue. Refreshments generously provided by Pizza Hut.

Preschool children all over the area will be taking part in Stand Against Racism. At the YWCA HQ in Inkster, at noon on April 29 they will be singing a special song about accepting differences. At other locations they will be flying coloful kites representing different races and cultures and also singing songs. Join us!

At the YWCA Stand Against Racism at noon on April 29, Freda Sampson, project manager for the Race, Residency and Regionalism project will provide enlightening information regarding the history of housing in the Detroit area and its affect on the everyday lives of its citizens and the region at large. Also speaking are Wayne County Commissioner Joan Gebhart and a representative from the City of Inkster. Join us for this interesting program.
