DESCRIPTION:Many organizations have multi-lingual staff who could serve a
 s interpreters &ndash\; with the proper training. University of Michigan
  Health Services (UMHS) Interpreter Services offers a course &ndash\; Me
 dical Terminology &amp\; Body Systems &ndash\; to teach your staff the s
 kills they need to interpret competently. Mastering complex medical term
 s can be hard. Our Medical Terminology and Body Systems course makes it 
 easier. This course is open to everyone\, and the materials and instruct
 ions are presented in English only.This 40 hour course teaches the Word-
 Building technique &ndash\; a quick and easy way to learn challenging te
 rminology. The class also teaches basic medical knowledge\, preparing in
 terpreters to work in healthcare settings and pass medical interpreter c
 ertification exams. It is open to everyone\, and the materials and instr
 uctions are presented in English only.The course costs $280 ($265 for UM
 HS interpreters). Books and lunch are included if you take the full cour
