What draft? We have a volunteer military, which is doing just fine, despite the fact that Obama is Read Morecutting back funds to it and causing morale to suffer. Why didn't Obama serve his country via the military, I am sure excuses will be made.

First impressions with Obamacare may be lasting, particularly if 2015 turns out to be asRead Moreinteresting as 2014 has been. What one sees is exactly what one gets, more cost, different doctors, longer waits, unless you do what many are expected to do, pay retainers to doctors for immediate care.

Live for today, who knows what tomorrow will bring.....after all, the govt will be there to saveRead Moreus. Remember, history is written by the victors, the survivors. 8 track cassettes are history, any kind of cassette tape is pretty much history, as is 'film', but we can respect that they played a part in the improvement of technology, evolving into I-phones, and I-phones will , one day, with their popularity, evolve into the next level of technology, all documented by , and, by their use, documenting history.

Joe, that 'cultural reality' works, the CA police are still standing. That victim being assaultedRead Morec reated his own demise by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and , as a result, was fated to succumb to the faults of society's protectors. No one is perfect, to the victim's chagrin. Lesson learned? Don't allow yourself to be deadly assaulted. That truck driver that clipped the kid in the street sure won't stop the next time it happens, if ever, would you?

Actually, since it was a shoe being tossed , that is a common practice in Arab cultures, forRead Moreshowing extreme disrespect. Using your logic Joe, the lady must be an Arab with bleached hair and is trying to gain some attention. Better change the profiling at the airports. Anyone with bleached blond hair, no luggage, female, missing a shoe, paid cash for a ticket, must be an Arab terrorist. Profiling to the extreme.....

Joe B - Thinking about the video of Saddam's statute being torn down by the jubilent Iraqis stillRead Morema kes me smile. They were so grateful for the help rendered by the U.S. led by George Bush. When the Iraqis started hitting the statue with their flip flops, I thought - man those people really appreciate being freed! Thanks for the memories Joe!

It should be the other way around! The rich get to buy their politicians. The 'regular folks'Read Morecan' t. The regular folks should get MORE votes per person to equalize the playing field.
Lee Jacobsen April 11, 2014 at 07:15 PM
Even if the rich do buy their politicians to change the rules for them, that is one of the perks of Read Morebeing rich, and they buy both sides of the political fence. How so? look who is currently in power, Obama and the Dems, so their hands must be extended and , since the tax rules don't appear to be changed, subsidies are still in place, the bribes are doing the job, the Dems obviously like taking money from Wall Street. The republicans will change this, perhaps even the Tea Pot folk, it can't get any worse, and again, it is obvious that Obama is doing nothing to stop the Dems from taking money since the rules have not been changed, not even a little bit. By the way, rich Obama has plenty of investments in the Cayman Islands as well, easy enough to Google.

Again, it was Clinton that deregulated the loan qualifications for obtaining a mortgage, requiringRead Moreb anks to give loans to almost anyone rich enough to rub two nickels together. Can't afford to pay for a home? The consequence is getting tossed out onto the streets and back to rental options. Home ownership is the purchaser's responsibility, not anyone else. Bargaining , wages, benefits, and pensions are not lost, only to those that expect something for nothing, takers rather than makers. Obamacare is a good example, under Obamacare, the more you earn, the higher your healthcare premium. That is wrong, the cost should be the same for everyone signing up for the same plan irregardless of what you make, since we all receive the same healthcare.. It does not matter, Obamacare will self destruct on it's own, folk will pay doctors 'retainer' fees to get first dibs on care, the result is long waits for the rest, but they will be comforted by the knowledge that their healthcare was the best at a very low cost, even though many will die while waiting for that care. Speculation? Check out the Canadian and England wait times for intricate cancer surgeries etc. The average wait times are 4 months. Can you imagine being told that the cancer will continue to grow in your body for 4 months, until we get to you. This is a govt recording. Cancer deaths are 88% higher in England. Wall Street is simply following the rules established by the govt, currently under Obama and theRead MoreDem s. Republicans can't deregulate if they don't control or make the rules. Again, the financial debacle was initiated by Clinton, by deregulating loan qualification requirements. Easy enough to Google for the facts.
