Though there's plenty to do in Dearborn, there are still many holes to fill in terms of commercial real estate. But what do Dearborn residents really want to see opening up in their town?

This week, we asked residents and business owners to tell us what Dearborn is lacking. Specialty stores? Independent coffee shops? An IKEA? Hear what some people had to say, then add your own video or written response.

About this column: Each week, Patch will ask the community a question relevant to Dearborn. Share your responses!
What businesses do you think Dearborn needs to have? Tell us in the comments.

FYI, Dearborn still has two bowling alleys, Oxford Lanes on the west side of Telegraph just north of Oxford St (S. of Michigan Ave,) and Mercury Lanes on the N. side of Schaefer Road north of Warren Ave.

I would love to see a good health food store, like Total Health in Wyandotte or Natural Food Patch in Ferndale.

There is GNC in the shopping center with Target and Burlington Coat Factory.

I would love to see fresh food carry out, like a raw food restaurant, raw juice bar, etc. for on the go lunch. Dearborn is so great!

Mary Jo,
Green Brain Comics is an independent, family owned book store that has been in Dearborn for almost 26 years. And it's an anchor business for the revivification of the East Downtown Dearborn business district.
Comicbooks and graphic novels are finally getting the critical attention that they deserve.
The New York Times even maintains three different best seller categories for them now.
I bet we can find one to fit your taste.

GNC is a vitamin store, not a health food store. I'd love to see a Zerbo's or Whole Foods go in on the west end of Michigan.

I want a great local independent breakfast restaurant, like Rebecca's, Mae's, Tina's, or Fly Trap.

Good answer, Nathan! I hadn't thought of that one. And I LOVE the Fly Trap. They should just move out here.

You know what else would be great? A place that does big Sunday brunches. Does anyone know of a Dearborn restaurant that does that? Or should we add it to the list of "wants."
