West Dearborn Restaurant Closes; Set to Reopen as Sushi Spot

Signs on Salad Wrappers in west downtown Dearborn say that the location will reopen–but as a sushi restaurant.

West downtown Dearborn appears to be set to get another spot for sushi.

Downtown lunch spot Salad Wrappers, located on Howard Street, has closed for business. However, signs on the doors indicate that the spot will reopen on Friday, June 1–but as Joa Sushi.

The restaurant will join an already bustling Japanese food market in west Dearborn: Crave Lounge, Kabuki Restaurant and O'Sushi Restaurant are all located within a one-mile radius of the soon-to-be-opened spot. O'Sushi expanded its location in the Newman Street strip in 2011.

the problem with that spot is you can't see it from Michigan Ave but yes, we'll try it!

It's more like a half a mile radius... Maybe it will be a good restaurant, but it seems like a bad business idea to open another sushi place so close to three others.

Kabuki has yummy sushi, but horrendous service so let's hope these guys can do better
