Volunteering in Dearborn is a great way to give back to others and spread holiday cheer and warmth in your community.
Donating your time or giving a special holiday gift to a family or child in need can make a big impact.
There are lots of ways to help make the holidays truly special for those who are less fortunate. Here are a few places that are in need of holiday volunteers (and beyond) in Dearborn:
Friends of the Rouge: The local nonprofit will be hosting its annual stonefly search on Jan. 26, but they need you to sign up! Teams will depart from Dearborn and search in streams along the Rouge. Learn more at therouge.org.
Gleaners Community Food Bank: The Southeast Michigan organization's Bringing Hope to the Table program runs Saturdays in January at participating Kroger stores—including all three in Dearborn. Sign up here to help out. You can also make donations to Gleaners at the Adoba Hotel Dearborn.
Join a Service Group: The Dearborn Rotary Club, Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis, Dearborn Goodfellows and Kiwanis Club of Dearborn are always accepting new members. All four groups engage in a number of service projects throughout the year, helping local youth and others in need.
