Traffic Stop Results in Drug Arrest in Dearborn

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a man in possession of a number of illegal drugs, according to Dearborn Police reports.

Officers pulled over the man, driving a Silhouette east on Outer Drive near Jackson Street on Saturday evening after they noticed him swerving through lanes and speeding in a construction zone.

The man identified himself, but told officers that he did not have a license. Officers then began to search his car and found a number of illegal drugs. Some were in a bin under the passenger side glove compartment; others were found in a folder and grocery bag.

The drugs found included a bottle full of Xanax pills not belonging to the man, a bag of marijuana, a bag with an unidentified white powder, and a bag of crack cocaine.

Police arrested and booked the man for possession of narcotics.
