Postal Worker Allegedly Steals Customer's iPhone

A 25-year-old Dearborn woman is claiming that a U.S. Postal Service employee allegedly stole an iPhone from a doctor's office in the 14000 block of Warren Ave.

According to police reports, the woman told officers she believes that the postal carrier took her phone, which she had placed on a shelf next to the office mailbox, when her back was turned as she was trying to close up the office on the evening of April 13.

The woman informed officers that she attempted to call the phone multiple times in an attempt to locate it. On one attempt, an unknown suspect answered the phone and demanded money for its return. The phone was then turned off.

The woman contacted the USPS, who informed her they would attempt to locate the employee. The suspect was not the regular postal employee who delivers mail to the office, the woman said.

Vehicle Theft

On April 13, officers with the Dearborn Police Department were dispatched to the 4700 block of Schaefer Road for a vehicle theft complaint.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 40-year-old Canton man who informed police that he parked his car in the Midwest Medical Center parking garage at midnight on April 13. When he returned at the end of his shift at 8 a.m., the vehicle, a 2012 silver Lincoln MKS, was missing.

The bag that was in the victim's backseat was located in his parking space, however police found no evidence of broken glass or vehicle tampering. Officers contacted the security team in charge of the parking structure in order to review the video footage.

According to police reports, the victim's credit cards, hospital ID, and medical equipment were all reported stolen.

The vehicle's license plate number is CKM1235
