President Barack Obama sits on the famed Rosa Parks bus at the Henry Ford Museum following an event in Dearborn, Mich., April 18, 2012.

Following his campaign fundraiser at The Henry Ford in Dearborn Wednesday evening, President Barack Obama got on a bus.

The historic Rosa Parks Bus at the museum, to be exact.

The official White House Photo of the Day for April 18 shows the president sitting on the same bus where Parks made her stand for the rights of black Americans in 1955 in Montgomery, AL.

The Henry Ford acquired the bus in 2001 in an auction, where they beat out bidders that included the Smithsonian and the city of Denver, CO. It was restored and put on display beginning on Feb. 1, 2003.

Visiting the museum for the fundraiser, Obama told 600 attendees, "I've got to bring the girls back here."

Correction: This article originally stated that the Rosa Parks bus had been at the Henry Ford for decades. That is incorrect.

Check your facts. The "Rosa Parks Bus" became part of the museum's main floor exhibit in the beginning of 2003. It says so right on their website. There are ten years in a decade. Therefore the bus has been part of the main floor exhibit for less than one decade. Big difference.
