Cold Case Update: Man Charged in 2004 Murder of Dearborn Woman
The suspect in the murder of Margaret Sheppard Webb seven years ago is expected to be arraigned in Detroit on Tuesday.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's office filed charges Monday in the 2004 murder of a 43-year-old Dearborn woman.
The Detroit Police Department Homicide Section has been investigating the death of Margaret Sheppard Webb for more than seven years. On Monday, a charge of first-degree murder was brought against Oussama Talal Othman, 36, of Dearborn Heights.
On March 26, 2004, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Sheppard Webb was discovered dead on the 2800 block of Scotten in Detroit. Police reports indicated that she had suffered severe head trauma and her torso was burned.
Othman has been charged with first-degree murder, which carries a penalty of life in prison without parole. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the 36th District Court in Detroit.
