This holiday season, 89X Radio, Caribou Coffee and BD's Mongolian Grill are teaming up to gather toy donations for Goodwill Industries.
The 12 Days of Christmas campaign encourages metro Detroiters to donate new toys for area children whose parents are unemployed and working toward new jobs with help from Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. Donations will be accepted at all 18 Metro Detroit Caribou Coffee and at eight local BD's Mongolian Grill locations from Nov. 25 through Dec. 6, including the Dearborn BD's restaurant.
The toy donations will be available for purchase in Goodwill Industries' "Santa Shop," which offers individuals receiving employment education and training support from Goodwill the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for their children at greatly discounted prices. Funds raised go right back to Goodwill to support their mission of helping people obtain jobs.
Additionally, radio personalities from 89X will serve as baristas at a Caribou Coffee location each day during the campaign, and 100 percent of their tips will be donated to Goodwill Industries. Details on locations and times are available at www.89xradio.com and www.goodwilldetroit.org.
Anyone donating a new, unwrapped toy to Goodwill Industries at any of metro Detroit’s 18 Caribou Coffee locations throughout the campaign will receive one dollar off a Caribou beverage redeemable upon a future visit at any area Caribou Coffee location.
"The generosity of 89X, Caribou Coffee, BD’s Mongolian Grill and the people of metro Detroit will enable our trainees to focus on getting the support they need to earn the jobs that will lead to better lives and future happy holidays for their families,” said Lorna G. Utley, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.
