It's Always a Good Time: Dearborn Stars in Pure Michigan Singalong
Here's the video, filmed in part at The Henry Ford. It premiered during halftime of Sunday's Detroit Lions home opener.
'We don't even have to try — it's always a good time."
That was the phrase performed again and again, from the dunes of Lake Michigan to The Henry Ford in Dearborn, during the filming of a Pure Michigan video that shows off the depth of tourist attractions in the state.
The video, filmed for Pure Michigan by Jeff Barrett and Rob Bliss of Status Creative, was filmed two weeks ago as part of a weeklong road trip to 50 tourist stops in Michigan.
The three-minute video, which can be viewed here, premiered at halftime of the Detroit Lions-St. Louis Rams game on Sunday; the singalong song was Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City's "Good Time."
The set in Dearborn was a closed one; some of the stops, like one at the Detroit Zoo, were open to the public. Still, the crew clearly enjoyed themselves in Dearborn, tweeting a photo from Greenfield Village of performers decked out in old-timey costumes.
"We went back in time" tweeted @BarrettAll after filming at The Henry Ford. "Can't wait to come back!"

Wow! Excellent Pure Michigan commercial. It makes me glad that I live in such a wonderfully diverse state.

WOW is right. Artistically and commercially it is nice but technically it looks bad. Shot on a Canon 7D or 5D Mk2 without a stabilizer, probably shot at 30 fps and edited at 24, this doesn't really represent the creative side of the Michigan Film Industry very well. But for those who can't see those discrepancies, the spot does its job.
