A Dearborn resident reported a break-in to his home on Sunday, according to Dearborn police reports.
A resident of an apartment on the 5100 block of Oakman Boulevard told police that he left his home around 4:30 p.m. to go to the gas station and returned a half hour later to find his door ajar.
A check under his mattress revealed that $150 in cash, a diamond ring and a handgun were all missing.
The resident told police that he had left the door unlocked when he went out, but did not know who might have committed the robbery.
He could not locate the serial number for the gun, which he said he had purchased in Pennsylvania.
