Dearborn's Henry Hotel Named Best in the State

U.S. News & World Report recently named The Henry, The Dearborn Inn and Adoba Dearborn/Detroit on their lists for best hotels in Michigan and Metro Detroit.

Dearborn's Henry Hotel has collected another accolade: U.S. News & World Report has named the four-star hotel the best hotel in Michigan and Detroit for 2013.

The report was part of the magazine's release of the top hotels and vacation packages in the United States and across the globe. The best hotels for 2013 were calculated using the opinions of travel experts, guest ratings and awards.

The Dearborn Inn also clocked in at No. 8 on the Best Hotels in Detroit list and No. 13 in the state; newcomer to Dearborn's hospitality scene Adoba Dearborn/Detroit was named No. 12 out of 24 in Metro Detroit and No. 18 statewide.

A total of 820 hotels were ranked within the state.

All three Dearborn hotels were praised for their location—close to shopping, attractions and downtown, but in a safe and suburban setting.

"Guests frequently praise the hotel's prime setting, characterizing it as both safe and convenient to downtown Detroit," the magazine's review for The Henry reads. "Along with the hotel's location, guests also praise the clean, comfortable rooms, which boast Frette linens, marble bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi."

Of the on-site restaurant TRIA, the manazine shared that guests called it "delicious and well-priced."

The Dearborn Inn was also praised by guests for being "gorgeous" and well-maintained.

In total, 1,639 U.S. luxury hotels and 273 Caribbean hotels were analyzed for the 2013 rankings, with only a small fraction named to the "best" lists.

"This is our third year ranking hotels, and the bar continues to climb for luxury properties," said Chad Smolinski, vice president of rankings and reviews at U.S. News & World Report, in a press release. "Desirables amentities and hotel loyalty programs will no longer suffice. People are seeking hotels that go above and beyond to give their guests an unforgettable experience."

This is the second recognition The Henry has received in recent months. In November, the hotel was named among the Top 25 Hotels in the Midwest by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. The Henry and The Dearborn Inn have also both been named Four Diamond Lodgings by AAA for many years—the Henry, as far back as 1989, when it was still a Ritz-Carlton.
