Dearborn Teams Eliminated in Girls Basketball District Tournament
Dearborn Heights Crestwood will advance to regionals.
Dearborn Public Schools' three girls varsity basketball teams were eliminated from post-season play this past week in the Class A district tournament, according to the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
District 16 play began Feb. 25 at Brownstown Woodhaven, with Lincoln Park facing off against Edsel Ford High School and Dearborn High taking on Fordson High. Edsel and Fordson advanced to district semifinals on Feb. 27, playing against Allen Park and Dearborn Heights Crestwood, respectively.
The Thunderbirds lost, 34-21; while the Tractors lost, 52-23.
Allen Park lost to Crestwood March 1 in the district finals. Crestwood will advance to the girls basketball regionals, taking on Westland's John Glenn High School on Monday, March 5 in a semifinal game.
Dearborn Divine Child also dropped out in Class B district play to River Rouge.
