Dearborn Schools Business Services Director Killed in Monday Morning Homicide
Farmington Hills police arrested Tucker Robert Cipriano in connection with the beating death of his father Monday morning.
Two suspects are now in custody in connection with the early morning beating death of Dearborn Public Schools Director of Business Services and Farmington Hills resident Robert Cipriano.
Police announced the arrest of son Tucker Robert Cipriano at around 8:40 a.m. Monday morning.
Dearborn Public Schools district spokesman David Mustonen said that in the DPS Administrative Services Building where Robert (Bob) Cipriano worked, "we met with staff just to make sure everyone knew the details.
"Our counselors are here and will be here all day," added Mustonen, who said there were not plans to shut down any parts of the district. "If there are staff here who need to go home, that’s fine. There were people here who worked with Bob every day."
Cipriano's wife and 17-year-old son were also critically injured in the incident, which occurred on Rose Hill Drive, in the 11 Mile and Orchard Lake Road area of Farmington Hills.
WDIV-TV reports that the victims, a 51-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man, were severely beaten.
According to a news release issued by Farmington Hills Police around 6 a.m., authorities were called to a home on Rose Hill Drive at 2:50 a.m., where they found one man dead, and another man and woman injured. The injured victims were taken to Botsford Hospital.
Police took one suspect into custody early this morning and spent several hours looking for Cipriano, described as 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, with black hair and green eyes. Police said he may have been driving a blue 2002 Ford Ranger pickup, with plate number CHG7962.
Police Chief Chuck Nebus told reporters this morning that Cipriano may have left the area, and WJBK-TV Fox 2 Detroit reports he was located in the Keego Harbor area.
A lockdown was placed on four Farmington Hills schools while police searched for Cipriano, but was lifted as of 9 a.m., district spokesperson Diane Bauman confirmed.

This is a great loss for Dearborn Public Schools. He was a very intelligent man who handled great economic challenges within our district these past few years. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go to the family

I had the privilege of working with Bob professionally last summer. A man of integrity, strong ethics, and an encompassing drive to perform his job to the fullest so that the students of DPS would reap all the benefits of the education system. He will be missed. May you rest in peace, Bob.

Bob was a great college friend of mine. He was always very kind to everyone....and so much fun. I am sorry to have lost touch with Bob and Rose these past 30 years. Regrets abound. I pray that family members and friends have the space in their hearts to hold the weight of pain and loss, and the courage to move bravely through it. Prayers are flying to Rose and her son and all their family and friends.
