UPDATE: Dearborn Police Searching for Suspected Robber of Bank of America Branch

The bank, located on Michigan Avenue near Oakman Boulevard, was robbed on Friday morning.

Dearborn police are searching for a man who they say made off with cash from a local Bank of America branch Friday morning.

According to police, the bank – located on Michigan Avenue near Oakman Boulevard – was held up by an unknown suspect at 9:33 a.m. Friday.

Witnesses told police that the man entered the bank, announced the hold up and implied that he was armed. No weapon was actually spotted by any witnesses.

The suspect was described as a male with a dark complexion, estimated to be in his 20s. He had an average build and was around six feet tall.

The man was wearing a bright green safety vest with the word "visitor" written on the back, green camoflage pants and a light-colored floppy hat.

The suspect fled in a vehicle northbound on Oakman.

Later review of surveillance tapes revealed the getaway vehicle to possibly be a Chrysler van, deep purple in color.

Dearborn police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the man, and are asking that anyone with information relating to the robbery call the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2241.

With all the road construction going on, what a clever disquise. Did the bank give him a dye packet in the bills, so if we see a multi-colored worker, he may be suspect.?
He does have a dark complexion, perhaps black, Negro, African American, would be a more appropriate choice of words, being that folk are getting touchy about being 'profiled'.
In any event, robbing banks gets the feds involved, and they are relentless.

Police told me that there was no good description of the vehicle before. I'm unsure as to why they knew he had a vehicle but didn't see it. However, this article has been updated to note that it was a purple van, possibly a Chrysler. A photo of the van has also been added from surveillance footage.

I figured if they knew he had a vehicle then obviously someone had seen it and at least saw what color...

So much concern when a bank is robbed. So little when a muslim Mob attacks a group of Christians exercising their God given Constitutional rights. America... FIGHT BACK!

Billy....It's all a matter of perspective and context. If your money is in the bank when it is robbed, and you are not there, there is little concern as the money is insured. If you are in the bank at the time of the robbery, there is much more concern as your life is in peril. Ditto for the Muslims and Christians. There is nothing preventing those Christians from exercising their God given Constitutional Rights in front of their own church, but that would not be as exciting or newsworthy. Instead, they create a scene at a Muslim event. Is that childish or what? Of course the Muslims are going to protect their own turf! In the United States, we have laws concerning those freedoms. The context or different perspective enters the picture when this scenario is done in another land where freedoms are , shall we say, defined differently , say Egypt? Those Christians exercising their God given, (but not Muslim given) rights would soon be given another name, 'martyrs', and enter the gates of heaven just a little bit sooner than the rest of us.

There is nothing Christian about those idiots at the festival. Christian implies Christlike, Jesus broke bread and socialized with prostitutes, Samaritans, and tax collecters his sermon on the mount blessed the peacemakers. These people are nothing like Christ, they are like the self righteous and prideful Pharisees and saducees who Jesus rebuked and eventually plotted to kill him

Well said Frank, and , as a reward for their daring, some say stupidity, the odds are pretty good that if they keep pursuing this path of preaching, they will see the gates of heaven much sooner than the rest of us.
