Dearborn Police Request Help Identifying Smash-and-Grab Robbers (VIDEO)
Surveillance video provided by Fairlane Town Center shows the theft in action.
According to police, the suspects entered Macy's at 7:43 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, and approached the Fine Jewelry Department. Surveillance video from the store (attached to this article) shows one of the suspects pulling out a blunt object—possibly a hammer—and smashing a jewelry display case.
All three quickly grabbed jewelry from the case and fled the store.
The suspects are described as black males, all around the ages of 18-22, 6 feet tall and with thin builds. Two of the men were wearing gray hoodies, jeans and Timberland boots; the third was wearing a black hat, black hoodie, blue jeans and black shoes.
Police say that similar incidents have been reported in other jurisdictions and may be connected.
