Dearborn Man Tries Out for America's Next Top Model

The popular modeling reality show held a casting call in Ferndale on Friday.

For the first time ever, America's Next Top Model is looking to add male contestents to the show—and one Dearborn man wants his shot at stardom.

An open casting call for ANTM's 20th cycle was held at P&A Scholars Beauty School in Ferndale on Friday, Jan. 4.

CW50 Detroit covered the casting call with live tweets from hopeful contestents, who came from all across Michigan—and some, from out of state—in an effort to secure their spot on the show's next season.

In the upcoming cycle of the show, in which contestants vie for a prize package that will help launch their modeling careers, male models will be added to the group of contestants competing for the title of America's Next Top Model.

A 21-year-old Dearborn resident identified only by his photo and his Twitter handle—@whyohwhybri—said he heard about the casting call from his mom.

Hopeful models reportedly waited in line for hours for the casting call. Auditions included an interview and a runway walk.

There's no word on when decisions about the cast will be announced.

Viewers will continue to be able to vote for their favorite models though social media, helping decide who gets eliminated and who stays in the running.
