The focus of this year's tour will be the historic subdicision of Springwells Park. Six homes will be highlighted in the neighborhood, focusing on their historic value, unique architecture, and stunning gardens.
Springwells Park, the historic early-American subdivision designed by Edsel and Henry Ford, is located at Rotunda Drive and Greenfield Road.
The headquarters for the tour will be the neighboring Tournament Players Club Michigan golf course, where tickets–at $15 pre-sale and $20 on tour day–will be available for pick up.
Free parking is available at Dearborn Congregational Church on Rotunda Drive adjacent to the TPC. Lunches will be available at the TPC Clubhouse for $15.
Also, a Designer Showcase program beginning at 9 a.m. will feature interior decorator Patrizia Makohon and architect Holly Kaiser, plus Peggy Ray from Campbell's Paint and Wallpaper sharing ideas about Early American decorating. Sadra Somers, a folk artist and interior designer will also be on hand to answer questions.
Nine vendors, including jewelry and garden art objects, will show their new
objects for sale. A contest will raffle off a two-hour designer consultation to one lucky winner.
Tickets for the Designer Showcase are $10.
All proceeds go directly to the Dearborn Symphony for next season's concerts at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.
