Dearborn Group to Hold Blood Drive Near the Farmers Market
Visitors to the Friday market can pick up groceries, say hi to their neighbors and give blood to help the Red Cross.
Local environmental group Dearborn Goes Green is hosting a blood drive during the Dearborn Farmers Market this Friday.
The blood drive will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce offices, which are located on the first floor of the Bryant Library.
According to the group's Facebook event page, "Despite the ongoing efforts to call and email blood donors, the local Red Cross is unable to meet many blood orders for local hospitals in the timeliest manner."
"Dearborn Goes Green is proud to support such a vital organization in our community and is asking all our members, friends and families to help us in this pursuit."
Appointments are recommended, and can be set up by registering at www.redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code "gogreener." Or email your name, email address and desired time to event coordinator Adam Dib at adamdib@yahoo.com.
Walk-ins are also welcome.
