Dearborn Council Approves $82K Contract for Resurfacing of Park Tennis Courts

The Ford Field construction is part of a Wayne County millage allocation.

A Wayne County parks millage will help fund improvements at two Dearborn parks, Recreation Department Director Greg Orner confirmed Tuesday.

Dearborn City Council, at their regular meeting Tuesday night, approved a contract with T & M Asphalt Paving for $82,222 for the first part of that: resurfacing of the tennis courts at Ford Field Park.

The rest of the funding from the county—$137,000 in total—will be used for the installation of "spray features" in the baby pool at Levagood Park's Dunworth Memorial Pool.

Construction on the tennis courts—which have already been torn down—will begin immediately.

Orner said that residents could expect to see the new features at Levagood's pool by the start of the 2013 swim season.

I wish they would do this at Ford Woods, the courts there are in way less playable condition and more residents play there.
