The city of Dearborn became the city of Deer-born on Thursday when as many as three of the animals were seen running around the city's east end.

Fordson High School students and staff first saw the deer in the parking lot of the school Thursday morning. One of them ran south down Schaefer Road and, according to Dearborn police, broke into Adonis Restaurant at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Schaefer.

WYXZ reports that a boy on his way to school saw the deer crash through a window of the restaurant around 7:30 a.m.

The restaurant sustained significant damage, though no one was hurt. Animal control officers tranquilized the deer, and later put it down after a veterinarian was unable to successfully treat the animal.

Another deer was spotted on Williamson Street around noon, leading animal control officers on an eight-block chase down streets and through backyards. They attempted to tranquilize it, but lost track of the animal in the area of Paul and Mead streets.

Dearborn Patch reader Fay Moussa said on Facebook that her friend snapped a photo while the deer was in her backyard near Fordson High.

Police are still attempting to locate at least one deer.

I live on Cherry Hill at Outer Drive and see six to eight Doe infront of my house every night between 3am and 4am like clock work. They walk east on Cherry Hill from Outer Drive as a group and some nights even go into backyards...looking for food I'm sure. Hope nobody hits them with their car...they drive pretty fast in this area.
