A Dearborn resident reported damage to her car by gunshots, according to Dearborn police reports.
The resident called police around 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, after she discovered damage to the windshield, hood and interior of her Infiniti QX56. The car was parked in front of her home on the 6300 block of Ternes.
She told police that she believed the damage was caused by a gun being fired around 1 a.m. the night before, which she heard from her home.
According to police, no calls were made that night to dispatch for gunshots. However, police examined the car and found that the damage was consistent with the look of gunfire.
One gunshot appeared to have gone through the front windshield, as well as through the front and rear driver's side headrests. The hood also appeared to have gunshot damage.
Police also discovered bullet fragments in the vehicle, as well as two spent bullet casings on the ground nearby on Ternes Street.
