Crime Report: Elderly Man's Car Stolen Outside of Dearborn Hotel
The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
According to Dearborn Police reports, an 83-year old man had his car stolen earlier this week from the Red Roof Inn on Michigan Avenue where he had been staying.
The man explained that the car had been there at 10 p.m. the previous day. The next day at 7 a.m., however, he looked outside and did not see his charcoal-colored 2005 Dodge Durango.
Police could find no signs of a break-in, such as broken glass.
In addition to having fully paid for the car, the man said he also lost tools that were in the car at the time of the robbery.
The man explained to police that for the past three years, he had been living at the Red Roof Inn because he frequently traveled between Dearborn and Pittsburgh, PA.
There are no suspects and there were no camera outside the hotel.
