Crime Blotter: Dearborn Bar Robbed at Gunpoint
The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Police were called to the bar at 4025 Maple just after 10 p.m. Tuesday for report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.
Employees of the bar told police that three men wearing ski masks–two with handguns, one with a rifle–walked in and told everyone to get on the ground. One man, holding an AK-47, told the bartender to open the safe and Keno drawer and place them on the bar. One of the other men grabbed the money–around $3,000 in cash–and placed it in a blue pillowcase.
One bar patron told police that the suspects also took his wallet, which contained cash and several credit cards.
The men then exited without further incident. Surveillance footage showed the suspects walking away north on Maple Street.
The three suspects are described as a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with "Detroit" written on it and carrying a black automatic handgun; a black male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and carrying a silver automatic handgun; and an unknown male wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and carrying a rifle.
All three were wearing what appeared to be white gardening gloves.
Dearborn police canvassed the area and notified other local departments, but were unable to locate the men.
