Check out the Dearborn Patch Commute Page for updates on accidents, construction and backups.

Construction on I-94 and M-39 will affect Dearborn-area drivers this week according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Eastbound and westbound I-94 will have alternating single and double lane closures between I-96 and Michigan Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge work. Single lane closures will be during daylight hours (7 a.m. – 9 p.m.) and double lane closures during overnight hours (9 p.m. – 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday).

All lanes will be open by 5 a.m. Monday.

Additionally, northbound and southbound M-39 will be reduced to a single lane under I-94 from 4 a.m. Saturday until 9 p.m. Sunday for ongoing bridge work.

Heading into next week, the eastbound I-94 ramp to northbound and southbound M-39 will be closed starting at 4 a.m. Wednesday for ongoing bridge work. Eastbound traffic will be detoured using Telegraph Road north to eastbound Ford Road to M-39.

The ramp is expected to reopen Sept. 28.

The ongoing ramp closure from Southfield Freeway onto Van Born will remain in place until late October, and detours will be posted.
