Former Dearborn Resident Joseph A. Mifsud Dies at 73

Former longtime Dearborn resident and Ford employee Joseph A. Mifsud died Wednesday, July 27, after a five-year battle with a disabling stroke and heart complications. He was 73.
Mifsud retired to Florida in 1990 after working for Ford for 35 years, residing first in Naples, Fla., and most recently in Summerfield, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Mary Jo O’Hagan and David (Coryn); his grandchildren, Samantha, Anthony, C.J., Cally, P.J. and Cassie.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. A scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, and a celebration of life service Tuesday ay 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, beginning with 9:45 a.m. prayers at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at Michigan Ave. and Military in Dearborn. Burial will be at Acacia Park Cemetery, 31300 Southfield Rd., Beverly Hills.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
