Divine Child Robotics Club Seeks Votes for "High School Heroes" Competition

Divine Child is one of only seven schools in Michigan and the only one from the Dearborn area to have been selected for Subway's second High School Heroes competition.

The competition pits four schools from around the country against each other in an effort to receive awards ranging from $10,000-20,000.

The first round requires the school to show school and community spirit by obtaining the most votes. Divine Child's Technology and Robotics Club is currently in second place in its category with more than 3,000 votes.

If they win the money, the DCTR would like to purchase several items that would also allow them to create robots and hopefully participate in upcoming robotics competitions. Some of the tools they would like to use the money for include a 3D printer, a laser cutter and computers.

Currently, the DCTR club is trailing the leading group by about 1,600 votes.

Anyone may vote up to once per day through Nov. 13 by visiting Subway's Facebook page.
