The deadline for to apply for one of two $10,000 Comerica Bank Grand Slam Grants is quickly approaching. Schools can apply by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

The money can be used to create, expand or improve a public high school baseball or softball program.

This year, Comerica is awarding two $10,000 grants, one to go to a metro Detroit school and the other to a central/west Michigan regional school.

The winners will be recognized during a pre-game ceremony during the Tigers opening weekend game on Saturday, April 7.

Schools can fill out and submit the grant application online at www.comerica.com/grandslamgrant. Once complete, the application, along with supporting materials such as photos or videos, must be submitted via email to grandslamgrant@comerica.com no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10
